As educator Alice's career spanned thirty-eight years and four states. Her experience covered fourteen years elementary teaching and twenty-four years teaching and counseling in secondary schools.

Alice holds a bachelor's degree from Oglethorpe University, Atlanta, Georgia, a master's degree from Vanderbilt-Peabody University, Nashville, Tennessee, and an Educational Specialist degree from Georgia State University Atlanta, Georgia.

As designer, Alice designed, wrote, and published fourteen crochet instruction books and leaflets. She has produced five teaching videos, and has designed patterns for several national magazines and craft book companies.

As inventor, Alice invented and patented three needlework tools. As a business woman, she established ALICE'S WONDERLAND OF CROCHET FASHIONS which was an outgrowth of her needlework classes in an alternative high school in southern California.
